LASU BEGINS DISTRIBUTION OF SMART ID CARDS TO 2024/2025 UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Legitdan News reports that Lagos State University has commenced the distribution of Smart Identification Cards to full-time undergraduate students admitted during the 2024/2025 academic session.
The development was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, as part of efforts to improve digital services and provide flexible access to academic and financial operations within the university.
According to the institution, the newly introduced Smart ID Card will serve both as a student identity card and a payment card, allowing holders to access several services seamlessly.
The university explained that the card will be used for access control and authentication across LASU premises, while also supporting transactions on ATMs, Point-of-Sale terminals, and online payment platforms.
Management added that the Smart ID Card comes with added security features aimed at preventing identity theft, fraud, and protecting users’ personal data.
Students have therefore been directed to visit their respective Faculties and Schools for collection of their cards.
For further inquiries, the institution advised students to contact the Directorate of ICT through the official support email channels provided by the university.
