ABIA GOVERNMENT OFFERS JOBS AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO ABSU FIRST CLASS GRADUATES
Abia State Government has introduced new benefits for top graduates of Abia State University. The initiative includes automatic jobs, scholarships, and business support.
Legitdan news report that Alex Otti has announced major incentives for graduates of Abia State University during its 30th to 32nd combined convocation ceremony held in Uturu.
The governor revealed that all First Class graduates will be offered automatic employment as graduate assistants after completing the National Youth Service Corps. He also approved postgraduate scholarships up to PhD level in any public university in Nigeria for eligible graduates.
The initiative extends to top performing students in each department with a minimum CGPA of 4.25.
In addition, the state government has approved the recruitment of 100 outstanding graduates into the Abia State civil service.
A sum of 200 million naira has also been set aside to support about 100 young graduates with viable business ideas, particularly in agriculture, ICT, and clean energy sectors.
During the event, the best graduating student was awarded 5 million naira. The governor also commissioned new projects including a power substation and the reconstruction of the university’s secondary school.
The initiative is aimed at promoting academic excellence, creating employment opportunities, and supporting innovation among young graduates.
