ASUU ENTERS CRITICAL MEETING WITH FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OVER POSSIBLE STRIKE

ASUU leaders are meeting the Federal Government for two days. The outcome will decide if lecturers return to industrial action

Legitdan News reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities has entered a two day meeting with the Federal Government. The talks will decide if university lecturers proceed with a suspended strike.

The President of ASUU, Professor Christopher Piwuna, said the union is approaching the discussion with full seriousness. He explained that if the meeting on Monday and Tuesday fails, the union will return to its members with the outcome. The members will then decide the next step and the leadership will follow their decision.

Professor Piwuna said the union remains committed to defending the education system in Nigeria. He added that this commitment has stayed strong from past leaders up to the current leadership.
