UNIPORT OPENS TAGDEV 2.0 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR 2026
The University of Port Harcourt has opened applications for the TAGDev 2.0 scholarship programme for the 2026/2027 academic session. The initiative supports youth development through education and agriculture training.
Legitdan news report that the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and several African universities including the University of Port Harcourt has opened applications for the TAGDev 2.0 scholarship programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The long term initiative, which runs from 2023 to 2033, is designed to develop African youths through education, leadership training, entrepreneurship skills, and practical knowledge in agriculture and food systems.
At the University of Port Harcourt, the scholarship covers selected undergraduate and postgraduate courses including agricultural economics, agribusiness, animal science, food science, fisheries, and crop science.
The opportunity is mainly targeted at academically strong but financially disadvantaged students, including women, refugees, and persons living with disabilities.
Applicants are expected to meet stated academic requirements, age limits, and complete admission processes through JAMB, the university, and the RUFORUM application portal.
The scholarship will be renewed yearly based on strong academic performance, while the application deadline has been fixed for June 1, 2026.
