NERD CLARIFIES CLEARANCE PROCESS, WARNS STUDENTS AGAINST FALSE INFORMATION

Legitdan News reports that the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank has issued a clarification on its clearance verification process.

The agency stated that it has not instructed students to return to their institutions for verification or stamping of the NERD clearance slip. It warned that such information currently circulating is false and misleading.

According to the official process, students are to verify their clearance by scanning the barcode on the NERD clearance slip. Once scanned, the student’s details will display automatically. If the information is correct, the clearance is valid.

Students were advised to contact NERD support if the details do not match or if the barcode fails to scan.

The agency strongly urged students to ignore any directive asking them to visit their institutions for physical verification, as it is not part of the approved process.

Students are also encouraged to rely only on official communication channels for accurate updates.
