KATSINA AND PLATEAU ORDER IMMEDIATE SHUTDOWN OF ALL SCHOOLS OVER SECURITY THREATS

Legitdan News reports that the Katsina State Government has ordered the shutdown of all public primary and secondary schools across the state. The order takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

The State Commissioner for Secondary and Basic Education, Yusuf Suleiman Jibia, said the directive is a security measure aimed at protecting students and strengthening safety within the education sector. He noted that current threats demand urgent action to prevent harm.

Plateau State also issued a similar directive. The Universal Basic Education Board in the state ordered the immediate closure of schools, citing security concerns in parts of the state. The board advised schools to comply without delay.

Both state governments explained that the decisions follow rising insecurity in affected areas. They added that protecting students remains a priority while security agencies work to stabilize the environment.
