JAMB TO INTRODUCE BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE UTME FROM 2027
JAMB has announced plans to allow candidates use personal devices for UTME from 2027. The board said the system will improve exam experience and reduce technical issues.
Legitdan news report that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced plans to introduce a bring your own device option for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates starting from 2027.
JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, explained that candidates will be allowed to use their personal devices during the examination while a special flash drive system will be deployed to prevent examination malpractice.
He stated that the new arrangement is expected to solve complaints about computers shutting down during examinations and make the process easier for candidates.
During the 2026 admission policy meeting in Abuja, the board also revealed that Jesudunsin Owoeye from Ekiti State emerged as the highest scorer in the 2026 UTME with 372 marks and selected the University of Lagos to study Medicine and Surgery.
Ikenna Enwere from Imo State came second with 370 marks, while Ayomide Bamisile from Ondo State placed third with 369 marks.
