UNN RANKED THIRD BEST UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA BY SCIMAGO 2026

Legitdan news report that the University of Nigeria Nsukka has strengthened its academic reputation after emerging as the third best university in Nigeria in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2026.
The ranking evaluates institutions based on research output, innovation, and societal impact. The University of Nigeria Nsukka was placed behind only the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos. It also received a global position of 5,831.
The recognition highlights the university growing influence in research quality, international collaboration, and contribution to global development goals.
Many stakeholders described the achievement as a reflection of renewed progress under the current leadership and a sign of stronger academic direction for the institution.
