LASUED OPENS 2026 INDIGENESHIP VERIFICATION FOR LAGOS CANDIDATES
Lagos State University of Education has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise. The process is for Lagos State indigenes seeking admission into the university.
Legitdan news report that Lagos State University of Education has opened registration for the 2026/2027 Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin.
According to the institution, eligible candidates must have selected Lagos State University of Education as first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored a minimum of 185.
Online registration for the exercise will commence on Monday, May 18, 2026, and close on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The verification interview will run for four weeks from Monday, June 1, 2026, to Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The university listed required documents to include indigeneship form, payment receipt, candidate birth certificate, father birth certificate, letter from Oba, letter from Local Government chairman, and landed property documents. The institution stressed that the letter from Oba is compulsory.
LASUED noted that participation in the verification exercise does not guarantee admission but remains compulsory for Lagos State origin candidates before they can be considered for admission. Direct Entry applicants from Lagos State are also expected to participate.
The screening exercise will hold at the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall of the university. Old applicants from the 2025/2026 session who were not admitted are expected to revalidate their indigeneship clearance certificates at the same venue.
The university advised applicants to make payments only through the official portal and warned against dealing with unauthorized persons or accounts.
