AKSU ANNOUNCES NEW DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2025/2026 SESSION AFTER NUC APPROVAL
Akwa Ibom State University has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence Pharmacy, Architecture, Engineering and other degree programmes starting from the 2025/2026 academic session.
Legitdan news report that Akwa Ibom State University has officially announced the commencement of several new undergraduate degree programmes following approval from the National Universities Commission for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the university management, the approval includes the launch of a full-time Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) programme alongside multiple courses across Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Arts, Education, Engineering, and Social Sciences.
Some of the newly approved programmes include:
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D)
• Architecture (B.Sc.)
• Building (B.Sc.)
• Quantity Surveying (B.Sc.)
• Surveying and Geoinformatics (B.Sc.)
• Project Management (B.Sc.)
• Urban and Regional Planning (B.Sc.)
• Estate Management (B.Sc.)
• Local Government and Development Studies
• Peace and Conflict Resolution (B.Sc.)
• Fine and Applied Arts (B.Sc.)
• Music (B.A.)
• Guidance and Counselling (B.Ed.)
• Computer Engineering (B.Eng.)
• Automotive Engineering (B.Eng.)
• Telecommunications Engineering (B.Eng.)
The university stated that online applications are now open for qualified candidates seeking admission into the new programmes.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates who selected AKSU as their first choice institution and scored at least 265 in UTME are eligible for Pharmacy and Architecture programmes, while other programmes require a minimum score of 250.
The university urged interested applicants to apply early and ensure they meet all admission requirements.
