UI ASKS 226 UNDERGRADUATES TO WITHDRAW OVER LOW CGPA

The University of Ibadan has withdrawn 226 students whose CGPA fell below 1.0 after Senate ratified the 2024 2025 results.

Legitdan news report that the University of Ibadan has asked 226 undergraduate students to withdraw from the institution due to cumulative grade point averages below 1.0.

The decision followed the ratification of the 2024 2025 academic session results by the university Senate. Affected students span across 100 to 500 levels and will no longer have access to the school portal for course registration.

The Faculty of Science recorded the highest number of withdrawals with 79 students, followed by the Faculty of Technology with 45 and the Faculty of Agriculture with 35. Other affected faculties include Medicine with 18 students, Education with 18, Renewable Natural Resources with 10, Arts with 9, Economics and Management Sciences with 4, Law with 3, Environmental Design and Management with 3, and Veterinary Medicine with 2.

The annual academic review exercise, often referred to by students as a tsunami, previously recorded 408 withdrawals in 2018.
