TWO NANS PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS DISQUALIFIED AHEAD OF CONVENTION

Two candidates seeking the presidency of NANS have been disqualified after a screening exercise. The committee said the decisions followed constitutional guidelines.

Legitdan news report that two candidates contesting for the presidency of the National Association of Nigerian Students have been disqualified ahead of the 2026 convention following a screening exercise conducted by the Independent Convention Planning Committee.

The committee stated that the screening process was carried out in line with the constitution of the association and involved verification of documents submitted by aspirants from across the country.

According to the committee, the affected candidates were disqualified for failing to meet required conditions, including academic qualifications and eligibility rules such as completion of the stipulated number of semesters.

The committee added that while some aspirants were disqualified or placed on hold because of record related issues, others were cleared to contest for offices including president, senate president, and secretary general.

It emphasized that all decisions were based on verified information and constitutional provisions. Aggrieved aspirants were advised to make use of the established appeal process for further review.
