The Chief of Army Staff Literary Competition, 2025

The Nigerian Army invites young Nigerians to participate in the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Literary Competition 2025, a prestigious platform designed to showcase their creativity and analytical skills. Participants stand a chance to win cash prizes totaling N1.7 million across different categories, including Essay, Art, and Poetry.

Competition Theme:

“The Nigerian Army: Securing the People and Promoting Development”

Eligibility:

The competition is open to Nigerian students within the following age groups:

  • Primary School: Ages 5-11 years
  • Secondary School: Ages 12-17 years
  • Tertiary Institution: Ages 18-24 years

Categories:

The competition features three categories:

  • COAS Essay Competition
  • COAS Art Competition
  • COAS Poetry Competition

Prize Structure:

The top three winners in each category and age group will receive the following:

Essay, Art, and Poetry Competitions:

  • Ages 5-11 Years:
    • 1st Position: N250,000
    • 2nd Position: N100,000
    • 3rd Position: N50,000
  • Ages 12-17 Years:
    • 1st Position: N600,000
    • 2nd Position: N250,000
    • 3rd Position: N100,000
  • Ages 18-24 Years:
    • 1st Position: N1,000,000
    • 2nd Position: N500,000
    • 3rd Position: N200,000

Application Process:

  1. Complete the online application form for your respective level (primary, secondary, or tertiary).
  2. Submit your entry (essay, artwork, or poem) on the designated website: www.dcma.army.mil.ng by March 31st, 2025.
  3. Submissions will undergo a two-stage assessment: shortlisting and virtual interaction with assessors.
  4. Ensure that your work is original and plagiarism-free.
