JAMB APPROVES FOUR-WEEK DEADLINE FOR ADMISSION ACCEPTANCE

Legitdan News reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has approved a four-week deadline for candidates to accept admission offers into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The decision was announced during the ongoing 2026 JAMB Admission Policy Meeting as part of efforts to improve and speed up the admission process nationwide.
According to the new directive, candidates who receive admission offers are expected to either accept or reject the offer within four weeks through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB stated that failure to respond within the approved timeframe could result in forfeiture of the admission opportunity.
The Board also advised candidates to regularly monitor their CAPS profiles and respond promptly to any admission notification to avoid losing placement opportunities.
The development is one of several new policies being introduced to strengthen transparency and efficiency in the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
