BAYELSA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOLDS CAREER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR STUDENTS
Bayelsa Medical University has organised a one day capacity building programme aimed at equipping students with practical career and workplace skills for global competitiveness.
Legitdan news report that Bayelsa Medical University, through its Career Service Centre, successfully organised a one day capacity building training on May fourteen two thousand and twenty six as part of efforts to promote academic excellence, employability, and global competitiveness among students.
The programme brought together students, university management, government agencies, development partners, and industry experts to provide practical knowledge and career development opportunities for participants.
Key areas covered during the training included career planning, résumé writing, digital literacy, Artificial Intelligence, professional networking, occupational health and safety, and workplace ethics.
Speakers at the event emphasized that success in today workforce requires more than academic qualifications, stressing the importance of communication skills, leadership, professionalism, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Partner organisations including the Ministry of Labour, National Directorate of Employment, Teachers Without Borders, and the National Identity Management Commission also shared insights on entrepreneurship, skills development, and career advancement opportunities.
The training further highlighted the importance of global visibility, responsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, and the need for students to build strong professional profiles and networks.
