NANS PRESIDENT MAKES U-TURN, PUBLICLY APOLOGIZES TO SEYI TINUBU OVER ALLEGATIONS OF ₦100M BRIBE AND ASSAULT
Legitdan News reports that the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, has issued a public apology to Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over previous claims that he was offered a ₦100 million bribe and later assaulted for refusing it.
In a viral video released earlier, Atiku alleged that Mr. Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Ayodele Olawande, invited him to Lagos, hugged him, and offered ₦100 million to support the President. He claimed he rejected the offer and was subsequently abducted, stripped naked, and taken to the NTA office, where a statement of resignation was forcefully obtained under duress.
However, in a statement titled “Setting The Records Straight/Public Apology To Seyi Tinubu”, Atiku retracted his claims, saying he had been misled by one Ladoja Olusola. He revealed that Olusola allegedly fed him false narratives with the intent of seizing his position as NANS President through deceit.
“It has become imperative to note that the offer of ₦100,000,000 which was alleged was made to me to support President Tinubu was clearly untrue,” Atiku stated. He added that Ladoja Olusola manipulated him with fear and falsehoods, even warning him that Seyi Tinubu could order his death and cover it up.
He further clarified that the earlier claim that Seyi Tinubu sent thugs to his inauguration venue was also false. “I later found out that Mr. Seyi was nowhere near the venue,” he admitted.
Comrade Atiku ended his statement with a formal apology, distancing Seyi Tinubu and Minister Olawande from the allegations and reaffirming that the events were a product of coercion and misinformation.
