UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN [UI] POSTPONES 2026 POST-UTME SCREENING EXERCISE FOR UNDERAGE CANDIDATES
The screening, previously scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, has been postponed indefinitely. A new date will be communicated to affected candidates through official channels.
Legitdan News reports that the management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has officially announced the postponement of the 2026 Post-UTME screening exercise for underage candidates. The exercise had been previously scheduled to hold on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, but will no longer take place as earlier planned.
The development was communicated to affected candidates through an official email from the university’s Admissions Office. The notice stated clearly that the Post-UTME screening exercise for underage candidates, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, has been postponed, and that a new date will be announced in due course.
Reason for the Postponement
While the university did not give an explicit reason in its official communication, the postponement is understood to be connected to a scheduling conflict between the screening exercise and the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Many of the underage candidates affected by this postponement are currently sitting for the WASSCE, making it impractical for them to participate in the screening exercise at the same time.
What Affected Candidates Should Do
The university has assured all affected underage candidates that a new screening date will be announced in due course. In the meantime, candidates are advised to:
- Continue monitoring their email addresses linked to their JAMB and UI admission profiles for official communications from the Admissions Office
