SLUK SECURES FULL NUC ACCREDITATION FOR SIX PROGRAMMES
Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLUK), has recorded another academic milestone following the granting of full accreditation status to six of its undergraduate programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The approval, granted in line with Section 10 (1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, was conveyed in a letter dated 4th April 2026, with reference number NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/323. The letter was signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu.
According to the details, the Bachelor of Agriculture programme, with specialisations in Crop Science, Soil and Land Management, Animal Science, and Agricultural Economics and Extension under the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resource Management, secured a five-year full accreditation status.
Similarly, in the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, B.Sc. Cyber Security, B.Sc. Information Technology, and B.Sc. Software Engineering were all granted full accreditation by the Commission.
In the Faculty of Education, B.A. (Ed.) History also emerged successful in the exercise, while the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences recorded full accreditation status for B.Sc. Political Science.
Reacting to the development, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Abdullahi Haruna Birniwa, while conveying the approval of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, disclosed that all 36 academic programmes offered by the university have now attained full accreditation status. He described the achievement as a reflection of the institution’s collective commitment, resilience, and dedication to academic excellence.
Also speaking, the Vice-Chancellor, Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, noted that the success underscores the university’s steady progress towards fulfilling its mission and vision of delivering quality education and promoting academic excellence.
The accreditation exercise was conducted by the NUC between October and November 2025.
