OLOYEDE TO STEP DOWN AS JAMB REGISTRAR AFTER 2026 POLICY MEETING

JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede is set to step down after the 2026 admissions policy meeting. The announcement was made by the Minister of State for Education in Abuja.

Legitdan news report that the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad, has announced that the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions will be the final one to be overseen by the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.

Speaking during the meeting in Abuja, the minister stated that Oloyede ten year tenure has significantly transformed the board through reforms and improved administration.

Professor Oloyede assumed office as JAMB Registrar on August 9, 2016. During his time in office, the board recorded major financial improvements, with remittances to the Federal Government rising sharply and billions of naira generated in operating surplus over the years.

The improved finances also supported the reduction of tertiary institution application fees by 30 percent and funded several development projects.

Before his appointment at JAMB, Oloyede served as Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2007 to 2012. He also held leadership positions among vice chancellors in Nigerian universities.

A professor of Islamic Studies, he has published numerous academic papers and attended conferences internationally. His public service has earned him several national honours and awards.
