OAU STUDENTS’ UNION DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY, POSTPONES ALL CBT EXAMS

Legitdan News reports that the leadership of the Great Ife Students’ Union has raised serious concerns over the conduct of Computer Based Tests at Obafemi Awolowo University. The Union said it received several complaints and firsthand reports from students about major problems during CBT examinations.

According to the Union, the issues include system errors that skip questions, faulty computer accessories such as mouse double clicks, overcrowded ICT centers, and weak infrastructure unable to support the growing student population. The Union stated that these problems have affected student performance and academic fairness.

Legitdan News reports that the Students’ Union explained that the challenges have caused anxiety, mental stress, and unnecessary failures among students. The Union warned that allowing examinations to continue under such conditions would damage academic standards and harm student welfare.

The Union stated that with examinations approaching, urgent action became necessary to protect student rights and the credibility of the academic process. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared on all CBT examinations.
