CUSTOMS TO STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP WITH YAKUBU GOWON UNIVERSITY

 

The Nigeria Customs Service has reaffirmed its commitment to deeper collaboration with Yakubu Gowon University. The partnership will focus on research, infrastructure, and student support.

 

Legitdan news report that the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed the Service commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration with University of Abuja now known as Yakubu Gowon University.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the university management team led by Vice Chancellor Hakeem Fawehinmi at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, Adeniyi said the partnership would focus on academic development, research, and student support.

He recalled earlier cooperation between both institutions and expressed readiness to revive and deepen the relationship. He also highlighted past interventions by the Service, including transportation support and provision of information communication technology infrastructure.

According to him, new proposals from the university would be considered through a phased implementation plan to ensure effective impact.

Adeniyi stressed the need to strengthen the Federal Capital Territory university system, noting that strategic partnerships can help bridge infrastructural gaps and improve learning conditions.

In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Hakeem Fawehinmi commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its national contributions and proposed expanded cooperation in ICT, transportation, research, border management, and security studies. He described the collaboration as important for student development and national progress.
