SUMMIT UNIVERSITY ADVOCATES AI IN TAX ADMINISTRATION
Summit University has called for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Nigeria tax system. Experts said technology can improve revenue generation and accountability.
Legitdan news report that Summit University Offa in Kwara State has called for the integration of Artificial Intelligence into Nigeria tax administration system to improve revenue generation and modernise accounting practices.
The call was made during the maiden Isiaq Family Foundation Annual Accounting Lecture, where stakeholders discussed tax reforms and national development.
Experts at the event highlighted Nigeria low tax to GDP ratio and stressed the need for greater public trust, institutional reform, and technology driven solutions.
They noted that Artificial Intelligence can support auditing processes, fraud detection, and compliance monitoring while improving efficiency in tax administration.
Participants also urged the adoption of strong regulatory safeguards to ensure responsible use of technology in the system.
