NULASS LASU LAUNCHES 2026 IBILE WEEK, PROMOTES CULTURE, EDUCATION, AND STUDENT UNITY
Legitdan News reports that the National Union of Lagos State Students, LASU Chapter, has officially flagged off its 2026 IBILE Week with a press conference held on April 27.
The event marked the formal start of the cultural week, with attendance from student leaders, stakeholders, and members of the press.
Speaking at the event, the Public Relations Officer, Balogun Lateef Opeyemi, described IBILE as a unifying platform for Lagos State indigenes across Ikorodu, Ikeja, Epe, Badagry, and Lagos Island. He added that the initiative also promotes education, shared learning, and the application of global best practices within local culture.
He emphasized that IBILE Week reflects growth, achievement, and the importance of connecting with other institutions while maintaining strong academic values and professional standards.
In her remarks, the Chairman, Abass Mulikat Oluwafunmilayo, urged students to embrace their cultural identity and remain united. She noted that the week serves as a reminder of shared heritage and values among Lagos State students.
Also speaking, the Speaker, Mustapha Muhammad A. Ishola, called for teamwork, responsible leadership, and constructive engagement among students.
The President, Hammed Toyeeb Olayinka, described the launch as a milestone, noting that it is the first press conference in the history of the association to kick off IBILE Week. He encouraged students to stay engaged, maintain high energy, and participate actively in all activities.
Activities lined up include Funfair and Sports Fiesta on April 29, Colloquium on April 30, and Grand Cultural Display on May 1, 2026.
