UNIVERSITY OF JOS (UNIJOS) RELEASES APPROVED AMENDED ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Directorate of Academic Planning and Management at the University of Jos has released the approved amended academic calendar for the 2025/2026 undergraduate session, outlining key dates for both the first and second semesters.
The first semester will commence with online registration for new students starting on Monday, November 17, 2025, followed by registration for returning students on November 24. Lectures for all students are set to begin on December 1, with late registration running until December 12. A Christmas break is scheduled from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026, after which lectures will resume on January 5.
Matriculation for new students will take place on January 15, 2026. The first semester lectures and revision period will end on March 14, with examinations commencing on March 16. The semester’s exam period will be briefly interrupted by the Eid-El-Fitr holiday from March 20 to 23 and the Easter break from April 3 to 6. Exams will conclude on April 25, 2026.
Following the exams, industrial attachment and teaching practice will begin on April 27 and run until June 5, with result compilation, submission, and approval processes continuing through May.
The second semester is scheduled to begin on May 18, 2026, with lectures ending on August 8. Exams will run from August 10 to 29, followed by result compilation and senate approval processes in September. Academic staff leave is planned from September 21 to November 1.
The University also announced a proposed convocation ceremony from October 5 to 10, 2026, and the end of industrial attachment on October 24. Lectures for the 2026/2027 session will commence on November 2, 2026.
