LASU ANNOUNCES 2026 INDIGENESHIP VERIFICATION FOR UTME CANDIDATES

Legitdan News reports that Lagos State University has announced the commencement of the 2026 Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin.

The registration will open on Monday, April 27, 2026, and close on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Eligibility

Only candidates who selected LASU as first choice in UTME and scored a minimum of 195 are eligible. The University also stated that the exercise does not guarantee admission.

Screening Schedule

• Phase 1, April 27 to April 30, 2026
• Phase 2, May 4 to May 7, 2026
• Phase 3, May 11 to May 14, 2026
• Phase 4, May 18 to May 22, 2026

Applicants are to complete payment and registration online through the official LASU portal.

General Information

Candidates must be cleared by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee before they can be considered for admission.

Screening venues are based on divisions: Ikeja and Badagry at Faculty of Arts, Ikorodu at Faculty of Law, Lagos Division at MBA Building, and Epe at School of Transport and Logistics.

Old applicants from previous sessions who were not admitted are to revalidate their clearance online with payment.

Direct Entry candidates of Lagos State origin are also required to participate in the exercise.
