UNILAG TEAM SECURES PATENT FOR STEM TEACHING INNOVATION
A research team from the University of Lagos has received a Nigerian patent for a STEM education innovation. The device is aimed at improving practical teaching of electrolysis.
Legitdan news report that a research team from the University of Lagos has been granted a Nigerian patent for a STEM education innovation titled A Compact and Improvised Electrolysis Console for the Practical Teaching and Learning of Electrolysis.
The team was drawn from the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, and the Department of Physics, Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences.
According to the university, the innovation is designed to improve hands on and experiential learning in physics and chemistry by providing an accessible tool for teaching electrochemical principles in laboratory environments across institutions locally and internationally.
Members of the research team include Professor Babajide Veronica Folasade T, Dr Raheem Isiaka Ayobi, Abdulsalam Abdukarim, and Hassan Saheed Ayobami.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, on behalf of the University Senate, staff, and students, congratulated the team on the achievement.
