NUC APPROVES THREE NEW PROGRAMMES FOR CRESCENT UNIVERSITY ABEOKUTA

The National Universities Commission has approved three new academic programmes for Crescent University Abeokuta. The approval takes effect from the 2025 session.

The approved programmes are LLM Law, BSc Cyber Security, and BSc Software Engineering. The confirmation came in an official letter dated 13 November 2025, signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu. The letter was presented to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila.

The NUC stated that all three programmes are approved for full time mode and will run on the main campus. This authorises the university to begin full academic operations in advanced law studies and core computing fields.

The NUC confirmed that Crescent University met the needed academic and infrastructural standards during its evaluation. The Executive Secretary congratulated the institution for its readiness during the Vice Chancellor’s visit to the commission.

From the 2025 session, students will have access to these new pathways in law, information security, and software development.
