LASUED OPENS 2026/2027 INDIGENESHIP VERIFICATION EXERCISE FOR LAGOS STATE CANDIDATES
Lagos State University of Education has announced the commencement of its Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for candidates of Lagos State origin seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to the university, only candidates who selected LASUED as first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and scored a minimum of 185 are eligible for the exercise.
Management disclosed that online registration for the verification exercise will begin on Monday, May 18, 2026, and close on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
The institution added that the verification interview will hold from Monday, June 1 to Thursday, June 25, 2026, in four phases at the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall of the university.
Candidates are expected to present required documents including the Indigeneship Form, payment receipt, birth certificates of both candidate and father, letter from Oba, letter from Local Government Chairman, and landed property documents.
The university stressed that only applicants with a valid Letter from Oba will be considered for the screening exercise.
LASUED also clarified that participation in the Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not guarantee admission into the institution.
The institution further directed old applicants from the 2025/2026 session who were not offered admission to revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates at the designated venue.
Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin were equally instructed to participate in the verification exercise before they can be considered for admission.
Candidates were advised to complete payment and registration through the university’s official portal.
