JAMB Reduces UTME Form Fees by ₦1,500 and Remits ₦6bn to FG
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a ₦1,500 reduction in UTME form fees for candidates, alongside a substantial remittance of ₦6,034,605,510.69 to the Federal Government for 2024.
This was revealed in the board’s weekly bulletin, issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. The report highlights the board’s impressive financial performance:

- Total Revenue: JAMB generated ₦22,996,653,265.25 in 2024.
- Remittance: A direct remittance of over ₦6bn was made to the government as part of its operating surplus.
- Effective Remittance: When factoring in the ₦1,500 fee reduction for UTME candidates (multiplied by the number of beneficiaries), the total remittance effectively reached ₦9,013,068,510.69.
- Long-Term Contributions: JAMB has contributed over ₦50bn to the national treasury in the past seven years under the leadership of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar/Chief Executive.
