ABU NAERLS HOSTS WORKSHOP ON SOIL HEALTH EXTENSION PROJECT

 

NAERLS of Ahmadu Bello University has organised a stakeholders workshop on the C4SEAS regional training hub project. The initiative is focused on improving soil health agricultural extension in West Africa.

 

Legitdan news report that the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services of Ahmadu Bello University has organised a stakeholders harmonisation and validation workshop on the C4SEAS regional training hub project.

The workshop was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the NAERLS Ultra Modern Hall in Samaru, Zaria. It brought together stakeholders to support the Coalition for Strengthening Extension and Advisory Services in Africa initiative.

The project is aimed at strengthening human capacity for soil health focused agricultural extension services across West Africa.

Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Professor Adamu Ahmed, commended the project team and development partners. He noted that agriculture remains vital to Nigeria economy and urged participants to contribute meaningfully toward better soil health advisory systems for farmers. He was represented by Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi.

The Executive Director of NAERLS, Yusuf Sani Ahmad, described the workshop as timely and important. He stated that the agency remains committed to bridging research findings with practical agricultural extension services for farmers across the country.
