Mr. Oshiele Sunday, the Chief Security Officer of the University of Delta, Agbor, made a significant statement regarding the alarming connection between cultism and armed robbery.

He asserted that cultism often paves the way for more serious crimes, such as armed robbery, raising concerns about the safety of students on campus.

Mr. Oshiele explained that the university’s security landscape has remained relatively calm, thanks to the tireless efforts of his team in combating cultism and other social vices. “We have implemented various strategies to tackle cultism and drug abuse within the university,” he said, emphasizing the importance of a secure environment for all students.

He also praised the university management for their proactive approach to security, noting that requests from the security unit are met with immediate approval. “The management places a high premium on security,” he added, highlighting their commitment to ensuring a safe campus.

In his message to students, Mr. Oshiele expressed gratitude for their law-abiding behavior, urging them to remain vigilant and report any security lapses to the authorities. He also encouraged students to be mindful of their friendships, suggesting they associate with peers who positively influence their lives.

Furthermore, Mr. Oshiele called on staff members to cooperate with security personnel, particularly during checks at the university gates. “These measures are in place for everyone’s safety,” he explained.
