Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and National Association of Academic Technicians (NAAT) have gathered to express their grievances. They are protesting the non-payment of four months of subvention to the university, the non-remittance of deductions to cooperative societies, and unpaid salaries.
The workers are calling on the Ekiti State Government to address their demands, which include the immediate payment of the overdue subvention, ordering the State’s Commissioner for Finance and the Accountant General to ensure timely release of funds, and the introduction of a monthly payment of thirty-five thousand Naira as palliatives to alleviate the current financial hardships faced by their members.
