Legitdan news report that the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project has approved 300 million naira for the establishment of an Animal Feed Reference Laboratory at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike in Abia State.

The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science. Officials stated that the university was selected because of its reputation in agricultural research and innovation.

The wider programme is a 500 million dollar World Bank funded initiative being implemented across several states to improve livestock production, resilience, and commercial activities in Nigeria.
