WAEC EXAMS HOLD IN FCT DESPITE TEACHERS STRIKE
Senior secondary students in the FCT have commenced WAEC examinations. The exams are ongoing despite the teachers strike.
Legitdan news report that senior secondary school students in the Federal Capital Territory have successfully begun their West African Examinations Council examinations despite the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Union of Teachers.
Reports from schools across the FCT indicate that SS3 students were present and participated in their practical examinations under the supervision of invigilators.
School officials explained that the strike did not disrupt the examinations because WAEC is an external examination body and necessary preparations had been completed before the strike commenced.
However, regular academic activities in primary and secondary schools remain suspended, with classrooms closed and union members reportedly restricting access to school premises.
The teachers have stated that the strike will continue until their demands are addressed, while authorities have assured that candidates writing WAEC examinations will not be affected.
