LAUTECH PROFESSOR AGBAJE LATEEF RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL HONOURS
A Professor of Microbiology at LAUTECH has received two major international recognitions. He was appointed to a global journal board and elected into a UK scientific body.
Legitdan news report that Professor Agbaje Lateef of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso has received two international honours in recognition of his contributions to science.
He was appointed as a member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, a journal under the Nature Portfolio, and was also elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology in the United Kingdom on April 1, 2026.
Professor Lateef is a specialist in industrial microbiology, biotechnology, and nanobiotechnology. He currently leads the LAUTECH Nanotechnology Research Group and has been ranked among the world top 2 percent scientists for six consecutive years.
Scientific Reports is a global open access journal with a wide scope in science and an impact factor of 3.9. The journal receives millions of monthly visitors and is indexed in major academic databases. Professor Lateef serves on the biotechnology section of its editorial board.
In addition, the Royal Society of Biology is a professional body with over 21000 members across more than 40 countries. Fellowship is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to bioscience research, teaching, or application.
Professor Lateef has also held editorial roles in other international journals and has published over 190 research works with thousands of citations. His academic contributions have earned him several recognitions including institutional awards and global rankings.
