KOGI STATE POLYTECHNIC LECTURER DIES AFTER COLLAPSING IN CLASS

A lecturer at Kogi State Polytechnic has died after collapsing during a lecture. The incident has raised concerns about staff wellbeing

Legitdan news report that Kogi State Polytechnic has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a lecturer, Anslem Ojodomo, who reportedly collapsed while teaching in class and was later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital.

The incident was confirmed by the Rector, Salihu Avidime, who expressed concern over the loss within the academic community.

Ojodomo, a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, was described as a dedicated academic who contributed significantly to the institution. He also served as Deputy Dean of Student Services.

He joined the polytechnic in 2021 and had recently advanced in his academic career after defending his PhD proposal at Prince Abubakar Audu University.

The development comes shortly after the reported death of another lecturer, Barnabas Akuba, within a month, raising concerns among staff and students.

Members of the institution have called for increased attention to the health and wellbeing of academic staff.
