COURT DISMISSES SUIT AGAINST FUD VICE CHANCELLOR INAUGURATION
A National Industrial Court in Kano dismissed an application to stop the inauguration of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse. The court fixed April 13 2026 for further hearing.
Legitdan News reports that the National Industrial Court sitting in Kano has dismissed an application filed to stop the inauguration of Ahmad Muhammed Gumel as the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse.
The application was filed by Abdussalam Balarebe Suleiman through his counsel seeking an interlocutory injunction to halt the inauguration.
Presiding judge Mahmoud Abba Namtari ruled that the balance of convenience was not in favour of granting the application. The judge said granting the request would amount to deciding the substantive matter before hearing the case fully.
Counsel to the university Shamsi Ubale Jibril informed the court about a motion to strike out some names in the suit and another motion challenging the jurisdiction of the court.
The court fixed April 13 2026 for further hearing on the matter.
