IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STUDENTS WHO CORRECTED THEIR NIN DETAILS AHEAD OF JAMB REGISTRATION
Legitdan News reports that candidates who recently corrected their National Identification Number details such as name, date of birth, or other personal information have been advised to take an extra step to ensure the changes reflect on their JAMB profile.
According to the notice, failure to requery updated NIN details may result in issues during JAMB UTME or Direct Entry registration, including name mismatch and biodata errors at CBT centres.
Legitdan News reports that affected candidates are required to send an SMS using the same phone number linked to their NIN. The message should read REQUERY followed by a space and the candidate’s 11 digit NIN.
The SMS should be sent to 55019 or 66019 depending on the network. Candidates on MTN, Airtel, and other networks are advised to use 55019, while those on Glo or 9mobile should use 66019. SMS charges apply.
This process allows JAMB to refresh the candidate’s profile and retrieve the updated NIN information directly from the National Identity Management Commission.
Candidates have been strongly advised to complete this step before visiting any CBT centre for UTME or Direct Entry registration to avoid delays or complications.
Legitdan News reports that students are also reminded to focus on adequate preparation for the examination alongside completing registration processes to improve their chances of success.
