EKITI STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD OPENS APPLICATION FOR 2025/2026 SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARY AWARDS
Legitdan News reports that the Ekiti State Scholarship Board has officially opened applications for its scholarship and bursary awards for the 2025 2026 academic session.
The board announced that the awards cover undergraduate, polytechnic, postgraduate, and physically challenged students studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The initiative forms part of the Ekiti State Government’s effort to support education and reduce financial burden on students from the state.
Legitdan News reports that the online application portal will be open from Monday February 9, 2026, to Friday February 27, 2026. All applications must be completed online through the official scholarship portal of the Ekiti State Scholarship Board.
For the bursary award, applicants must be in 200 level or above and must possess a minimum of five O Level credits including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting. Eligible institutions include universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing and midwifery, and colleges of health technology.
Legitdan News reports that the scholarship award category requires applicants to also be in 200 level or above with a minimum CGPA of 4.0 for university students, 3.50 for polytechnic and NCE students, or a minimum of second class upper division for postgraduate applicants, depending on the level.
The board also stated that physically challenged students in tertiary institutions and postgraduate programmes are eligible for special scholarship consideration. Students on part time or sandwich programmes are not eligible for the awards.
Legitdan News reports that late applications will not be accepted, and applicants are advised to complete and submit their forms on or before Friday February 27, 2026.
