The University of Ilesa, Osun State, has announced a tuition-free policy for all programmes under its Faculty of Education starting from the 2024/2025 academic session. This policy applies from 100 level through to graduation. The initiative aims to address the declining enrollment in education courses and promote the teaching profession, which is vital for the development of the education sector.

While tuition will be waived, students will still be responsible for affordable incidental charges.

This move aligns with the Osun State Government’s plan, under Governor Ademola Adeleke, to enhance the quality of foundational education by appointing more qualified teachers.

The following tuition-free education programmes are offered at the University of Ilesa:

2. B.A. Ed. English Language
3. B.Sc. Ed. Political Science
4. B.Sc. Ed. Economics
5. B.Ed. Social Studies
6. B.Ed. Guidance and Counselling
7. B.Ed. Adult and Continuing Education
8. B.Sc. Ed. Agricultural Science
9. B.Sc. Ed. Computer Science
10. B.A. Ed. Music
11. B.A. Ed. Business Education
12. B.Sc. Ed. Educational Management
13. B.Sc. Ed. Educational Technology
14. B.Sc. Ed. Health Education
15. B.Sc. Ed. Chemistry Education
16. B.Sc. Ed. Physics Education
