Sule Lamido University (SLU) Secures Full Accreditation for 13 Foundation Programmes
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to thirteen undergraduate programmes at Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK). This follows Section 10 (1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, which empowers the NUC to establish minimum academic standards and accredit academic programmes in Nigerian universities.
The approval, conveyed via a letter referenced NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/361 dated 6th June 2024 and signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, includes:
- Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT)
- B.Sc. Computer Science (second-time accreditation)
- Faculty of Education
- B.Sc. (Ed) Biology
- B.Sc. (Ed) Chemistry
- B.A. (Ed) English
- B.Sc. (Ed) Mathematics
- B.Sc. (Ed) Physics
- Faculty of Humanities
- B.A. Arabic
- B.A. Hausa
- B.A. History and International Studies
- B.A. Islamic Studies
- Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences
- B.Sc. Chemistry
- B.Sc. Mathematics
- B.Sc. Physics
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae, lauded this achievement as evidence of the University’s commitment to providing quality education and achieving academic excellence.
The accreditation process was conducted by the NUC at SLUK between October and November 2023.
