Press Release: Clarification on NYSC Registration Extension Rumor
The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has become aware of a purported press release circulating, suggesting an extension of the registration date for the 2024 Batch “B” Orientation programme. This release, signed by one Samad Abdullahi and cited by some bloggers, is entirely false and did not originate from the NYSC.

To clarify, the NYSC registration portal did experience a technical glitch on Saturday, June 8th, 2024. Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) were immediately informed of this issue. The problem was promptly rectified, allowing registration to resume on the same day.
Upon reaching the maximum number of PCMs for the incoming batch, in accordance with the carrying capacities of the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide, the registration portal was duly closed.
We apologize to the PCMs who were unable to register before the portal was shut down. We assure you that the portal will reopen for 2024 Batch “B” Stream II registration, with the exact date to be announced later.
We strongly caution against the dissemination of fake press releases regarding NYSC operations. Individuals involved in such activities will be reported to law enforcement authorities for prosecution.
Online reporters and bloggers are urged to verify the authenticity of any information regarding NYSC before publication.
