MISSING LASU STUDENT FOUND: RELIEF AS AYOBAMI ADEOTI REUNITES WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY AFTER SUSPICIOUS DELIVERY INCIDENT
Legitdan News reports that relief and joy have returned to the Lagos State University (LASU) community as Ayobami Adeoti, the English Education student who was declared missing on Monday, April 29, 2025, has now been found safe.
Ayobami, who also runs a small fragrance business, had gone missing after setting out to deliver some of her products to a supposed middleman in Cele, Lagos. The meeting was arranged through a phone call from someone who claimed to be based in Abuja, requesting that the products be passed on through the Lagos contact for onward delivery.
She was last seen between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on the day of her disappearance, and attempts to reach her after her call with a friend failed due to poor network were unsuccessful. Her phone had been switched off, sparking widespread concern, panic, and a flurry of social media campaigns urging for her safe return.
The situation grew more tense when the Lagos-based recipient made disturbing claims linking Ayobami to an alleged POS fraud, further deepening fears among students and raising red flags over possible foul play.
However, in a thankful turn of events, Ayobami has been located and is currently safe and receiving care, according to sources close to the family. Though details surrounding her disappearance and reappearance are still sketchy, it has been confirmed that she is not under any legal custody and is cooperating with her loved ones to provide a full account of what happened.
Speaking on behalf of the student community, Module 2 Public Relations Officer, Samuel Johnson, expressed gratitude to everyone who helped spread awareness and pushed for her safe return. “We thank God for bringing her back. This has been a tough few days, but we’re grateful she’s alive and safe,” he said.
LASU authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but internal sources say further investigations may be carried out to ensure no student is ever exposed to such risks again.
