LASU has reminded all freshmen that indecent dressing will not be allowed during the 2025 matriculation ceremony. The university listed banned styles and warned that violators risk being denied entry

Legitdan News reports that Lagos State University has issued a reminder to all newly admitted students on the strict dress code for the 2025 to 2026 matriculation ceremony scheduled for Monday 1 December 2025.

The university restated that all 100 Level and Direct Entry students must appear in decent and acceptable attire. LASU noted that no student will be allowed into the venue with any dressing considered indecent or inappropriate.

For clarity, the university listed styles that are not allowed. These include coloured hair, long hair extending beyond the chest, dreadlocks or unkempt hair, long artificial nails, skimpy outfits, clothes that expose the upper body, torn or crazy jeans, nose piercing, and multiple earrings.
