SUPPLEMENTARY ADVERTISEMENT FOR PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME ADMISSION INTO POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Postgraduate School hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the listed postgraduate programmes at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, for the 2023/2024 academic session.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The University requires five (5) CREDITS including English Language at Ordinary Level (GCE, WASC, SSCE, NECO, and NABTEB) for ALL courses, and a credit in MATHEMATICS at Ordinary Level for SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCES, MANAGEMENT SCIENCES, and EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT courses.

A. LASU CONSULT

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies (PGD)
2. Master of Entrepreneurial Studies (Full-Time and Part-Time)
3. Doctor of Entrepreneurial Studies

Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies (PGD)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Entrepreneurial Studies, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Professional Certificate, Higher National Diploma (HND), or First Degree (Minimum of Third Class) in a Management and Social Science related discipline from Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.
• Five O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Candidates must satisfy all other conditions as stated in the general regulation governing Postgraduate degrees at Lagos State University.

Duration: Three (3) Semesters (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Master of Entrepreneurial Studies

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Master of Entrepreneurial Studies programme, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Professional Certificate or B.Sc. Second Class Lower in a Management and Social Science related discipline from Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) with Postgraduate Diploma (PGD).
• Five O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Candidates must satisfy all other conditions as stated in the general regulation governing postgraduate degrees at Lagos State University.

Duration: Four (4) Semesters (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Doctor of Entrepreneurial Studies

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Doctorate in Entrepreneurial Studies programme, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Professional Master’s Degree/M.Sc. Second Class Lower in a Management and Social Science related discipline from Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University with a CGPA of 3.5. Candidates with a CGPA of 3.0 may be admitted provided they are prepared to offer make-up courses.
• Candidates must satisfy all other conditions as stated in the general regulation governing Postgraduate degrees at Lagos State University.
• Five O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.

Duration: Three (3) Sessions (Full-Time and Part-Time)

B. FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Department of Management Technology

Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Enterprise System (PGD)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Enterprise System Management Programme, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Must be a graduate of Lagos State University or hold any other degree recognized by the Senate of the University.
• Holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) not lower than Lower Credit or First Degree (minimum of Third Class) from any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University in any related field, including Project Management Technology, Transport Management Technology, Management Sciences, Economics, Geography and Planning, and all Engineering fields like Mechanical, Industrial, and Production Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Information and Communication Technology, Educational Management, Science and Technology Education, Social Science Education, and other related courses.
• Five O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.

Duration: Three (3) Semesters (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Master of Energy Enterprise System

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Master in Energy Enterprise System Management Programme, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Must be a graduate of Lagos State University or hold any other degree recognized by the Senate of the University not below Third Class Lower Division in the following fields: Management Technology, Project Management Technology, Transport Management Technology, Management Sciences, Economics, Geography and Planning, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Information and Communication Technology, Educational Management, Science and Technology Education, Social Science Education, and other related courses.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Energy-related courses or Chartered Member of an Energy Institute.
• Five O’ level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
• Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT An applicant for the Master of Philosophy must be a graduate of Lagos State University or any other approved University with a CGPA of not less than 4.0 at the completion of the LL.M degree.

Duration: Minimum of Eight (8) Semesters (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Ph.D LAW

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT An applicant for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Law must be a graduate of Lagos State University or any University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University with a CGPA of not less than 4.0 at the completion of the LLM degree.

Duration: Minimum of Six (6) Semesters (Full-Time and Part-Time)

D. FOOD SECURITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Food Security and Sustainability Programme

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programme in Food Security and Sustainability, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Must be a graduate of Lagos State University or any other university recognized by the Senate of the University.
• Candidates for the Postgraduate Diploma can be graduates of any discipline.
• The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) credits at Ordinary Level, including English Language.
• Candidates with HND are considered for admission into the Post-Graduate Diploma Programme.

Master Degree (M.Sc) in Food Security and Sustainability Programme

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS To qualify for admission into the Master’s degree in Food Security and Sustainability programme, candidates must possess or meet a combination of the following:

• Must be a graduate of Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of the University.
• Candidates should be from a Social Science, Science, Agricultural Science, or other Science-based disciplines.
• The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) credits at GCE/SSCE Ordinary Level, including English Language.
