JAMB Explains Approved Keyboard Commands for UTME Candidates

Legitdan news report that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has outlined the approved keyboard and mouse commands programmed into its Computer-Based Test (CBT) system for the UTME.
According to examination guidelines, JAMB computers are configured to recognize only specific keys during the examination. These commands are designed to simplify navigation and answer selection for candidates.
The recognized keyboard commands include:
A – Selects option A as the answer to a question. Pressing A automatically records option A.
B – Selects option B. If A was previously selected, pressing B cancels A and records B instead.
C – Selects option C and overrides any previously selected option.
D – Selects option D and nullifies earlier choices.
N (Next) – Moves the candidate to the next question.
Candidates can also make selections using the mouse by clicking directly on their preferred option.
Education experts advise candidates to familiarize themselves with these commands before the examination date to avoid confusion and unnecessary time loss during the test. Mastery of the keyboard functions enhances speed, accuracy, and effective time management in the CBT environment.
