FG TRANSFERS TWO PRO-CHANCELLORS TO BOOST UNIVERSITY GOVERNANCE

Legitdan News reports that the Federal Ministry of Education has approved the transfer of two Pro-Chancellors in a move aimed at strengthening fairness, transparency, and good governance across Nigerian universities.

According to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, the reshuffling is part of ongoing reforms designed to provide a better learning environment for students and maintain high standards in the university system.

He emphasized that the Ministry is focused on merit-based appointments and transparent processes in the administration of tertiary institutions. “We are determined to ensure fairness, transparency, and a high level of governance across all our universities,” he said.

As part of the transfer:

• Retired Colonel Abdulmuminu Aminu, previously the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma, will now serve as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Kebbi.

• Ali Abubakar Jatau, who was the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Birnin Kebbi, will take over as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma.

The changes are with immediate effect.

Dr. Alausa thanked both individuals for their commitment to educational development in Nigeria, reiterating the Ministry’s resolve to build a more transparent and merit-driven university system.
