EDO STATE UNIVERSITY (EDSU) RELEASES POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES ADMISSION FORM FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FOR 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Postgraduate Programmes leading to the award of Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master Degree (M.Eng, M.Sc., MPA, M.A, MBA), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in various faculties at Edo State University Uzairue, Edo State, Nigeria for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

Method of Application

All applicants are to complete the online Postgraduate Application Form by visiting the Edo State University Uzairue website: www.edouniversity.edu.ng.

Application Fee

All applications must be accompanied by an application fee payment of Twenty-Five Thousand Naira (N25,000).

General Admission Requirements

  • Five (5) Credits at SSCE (WAEC/NECO/ GCE ‘O’ Level), NABTEB, or equivalents including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.
  • NYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter is required for admission into all Postgraduate programmes.

Programme-Specific Requirements

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
    • First Degree not less than Third Class Honors in relevant fields.
    • Candidates with HND in relevant fields.
    • Any relevant professional qualification.
  • Master Degree (M.Eng, M.Sc., M.A, MPA, MBA):
    • Minimum of Second Class Honors (Lower Division) degree from a recognized university.
    • Candidates with relevant Postgraduate Diploma at credit level.
    • Any relevant professional qualification equivalent to the above.
  • Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.):
    • Master Degree with a weighted average score of not less than 50% (CGPA of not less than 3.0 on a 5-point scale).
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
    • Master’s degree with a weighted average score of 60% and above (CGPA of not less than 4.0 on a 5-point scale).
    • Candidates with 55-59% (CGPA of 3.5-3.9) may be required to register for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme.
    • PhD applicants should submit a concept note/research proposal of not more than 450 words along with their application form.

Programme Duration

  • Postgraduate Diploma: Minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of four (4) semesters.
  • Master Degree: Minimum of three (3) or four (4) semesters, maximum of six (6) semesters.
  • Master of Philosophy: Minimum of two (2) semesters, maximum of four (4) semesters.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): Minimum of six (6) semesters, maximum of ten (10) semesters.
