CENTRE FOR SECURITY AND LEGAL STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA (UNIABUJA) RELEASES ADMISSION FORM INTO PROFESSIONAL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES AND CERTIFICATE COURSES FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified phD candidates for admission to professional postgraduate programmes and certificate courses of the Centre for Security and Legal Studies (CSLS), University of Abuja, for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

GOAL

The Centre for Security and Legal Studies (CSLS) is established by the University of Abuja as a leading Centre for the provision of high impact programmes of studies and research for implementable, sustainable and replicable solutions and ideas to address existing and emerging security issues within appropriate legal frameworks.

The Centre is empowered to work in collaboration with national and international bodies and organisations concerned with security and legal (especially relating to human rights) issues for synergy.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants seeking admission to the masters and postgraduate programmes of the Centre for Security and Legal Studies must fulfill the following entry requirements.

PhD

Candidates must be holders of a master’s degree from any recognised university.

Master’s degree

Candidates applying to the master’s programmes must possess at least five (5) relevant O’ Level credit passes including English language and Mathematics.

Candidates should also hold a postgraduate diploma or a minimum of bachelor’s degree in related fields (as may be determined by the Centre) from a recognised institution with a grade not below a Second Class Lower (2.2) category and demonstrated desire and ability to excel in the programme.

Postgraduate Diploma Programme

Candidates applying to the postgraduate diploma programmes should possess five (5) relevant O’Level credit passes including English language and Mathematics

Candidates should also hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related fields as may be determined by the Centre from a recognized institute with a grade not below a third class category and demonstrated desire and ability to excel in the program.

DURATION

The PhD degree shall run for a minimum of three academic years and maximum of 5 years. The Executive Master’s degree shall run for minimum of 18 months and maximum of 36 months, while the Postgraduate Diploma programme shall run for a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum of 18 calendar months.

The duration for the certificate courses shall be for a period of two weeks.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

Prospective candidates are requested to process their admission through the School Portal.

APPLICATION FEE:

Candidates are to pay a non-refundable application fee of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000) only for the postgraduate courses and Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000) only for the certificate programmes on the Application portal for the purchase of the form.
