ABU SETS DATE FOR 2025 2026 MATRICULATION CEREMONY
Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has announced February 17 2026 as the date for its 2025 2026 academic session matriculation ceremony. Newly admitted students are to pay a gown hiring fee of N3000.
Legitdan news report that Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has fixed Tuesday February 17 2026 for the matriculation ceremony of newly admitted students for the 2025 2026 academic session.
The university directed all newly admitted students to collect their academic gowns from their respective faculties ahead of the ceremony.
ABU stated that students are required to pay a sum of three thousand naira only N3000 for the hiring of academic gowns. The payment must be made strictly through Remita by generating a Remita Retrieval Reference RRR.
According to the university the process for generating the RRR includes logging on to the Remita platform selecting Pay TSA and States choosing the Federal Government of Nigeria and filling the payment form with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as the beneficiary. The purpose of payment is listed as COGCC with the description stated as hiring of academic gown.
The institution explained that payments can be made using debit cards internet banking or through any bank branch with a printed RRR slip. It added that students who pay with debit cards through the university POS will receive an official receipt immediately while those using other payment options must present a Remita receipt printout for issuance of an official receipt.
ABU warned students to desist from making cash payments at the designated centres for the collection of academic gowns.
The notice was signed by the university management and issued through the Public Affairs Directorate Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
